MODERATE LEAGUE PROPOSALS. P«B PIIEBS ABSOOIATION. Auckland, June 1. The executive meeting of the Auckland, branch of the Moderate League, the Secretary (Mi' Armstrong) reported progress from the central executive at Wellington. The League intended to ask that- regulations be made restricting the sale of; liquor for consumption off the premises to special bottle depots in each hotel, such department to close earlier than the bars. The League's programme included the establishment of a special Government department to supervise the whole trade and the reconstruction of local licensed authorities with fuller powers of investigation.
