The death occurred at the Waikato Hospital on the evening of 25th May of Bridget Jane Farrell, wife of Mr John Farrell, of Ohaupo Road, Hamilton. After residing at Ashhnrst for a number of years, Mr and Mrs Farrell removed to Taranaki, going to Hamilton about four years ago. A correspondent states that on I' riday last .Mrs Farrell was taken suddenly ill, and was removed to the hospital, where an urgent operation was performed. Deceased’s family were sent for, hut before all of them were able to be present, Mrs Farrell passed peacefully away. The deceased was very well-known, and loved by many friends in this district, having a happy nature and a smile for all. Much sympathy will he felt for the grownup family of Mrs Farrell who all reside in New Zealand. They are:—Mr John Farrell (Napier), Mr Frank Farrell (Auckland), Mr Chas. Farrell (Auckland) Mrs 0. C. Cowen (“Glen Massey” Ngarawahia), Mrs John Butler (Toko), Mrs D. S. Maxwell (Stratford) and Miss “Tillie” Farrell (Hamilton). Mrs D. S. Maxwell, accompanied by her brother, returned to Stratford on Friday, and Mrs Butler will stay in Hamilton until next week. The funeral took place at the Catholic Church, and was largely attended, showing the esteem in which Mrs Farrell was held in Hamilton.
