Unitbd Press Association. (Received 1.35 p.m.j London, May 27. A large meeting of Australians at the Trocadero devised means to help the Australian wounded coining to England. Sir George Reid moved a resolution expressing the meeting’s ardent administration of the exploits of the troops in the Dardanelles, and extending their sorrowful sympathy to the relatives of those who fed been in battle, and sympathy to dfe wounded. Sir George Reid onioned General Bridges’ valuable services'to the Commonwealth. Mr Ba rton, in supporting the motion, 1 said those originating the war inn-d bo: brought to book, and we could only do so by a complete conquest of the robber nation. The Germans could not have peace by treaty, for a nation which scorned treaties could not be trusted to keep one in the future. Australians should not tolerate any peace that would not prevent a repetition of such a pitiful war like the present in the life-time of their sons and theirs sons’ sons. The motion was carried. Several generous subscriptions were received to assist the war contingents’ work amongst the wounded.
