His second son, Mr Ralph Barnett, has received a commission in the Lancashire Fusiliers. Air (leotfrey Barnett, the eldest son, is with the New Zealand main expeditionary force.

Air F. Copestake, on the eve of severing his connection with the Stratford Abattoirs, of which staff ho has been a valued member for some years, was the recipient of two small presents from the staff as a token of esteem. The Manager (Mr Spilman) in handing Air Copestake a jewel ease for Mrs Copestake and a ease of pipes for himself, referred to the regret of all hands in losing Air Copestake’s services, their feelings being summed up in the words of the poet Shakespeare, they would ne’er look,upon his like again. Air Copestake briefly feelingly replied, thanking his coworkers for their kind appreciation.
