A disastrous fire occurred early this morning and gutted the promises of Williams (jeweller), Tickers (tobacconist), l3ott (stationer), Moir (cycle agent), and Parkin (tailor), while, considerable done, to Hoods (drapers)., hy water and smoke. The insurances were as follows: Carson's buildings, £ll3O in the Royal; Williams, £220 in the State and £IOO in the Northern; Parkin, £2OO in the South British; Bott, £IOO in the Victoria and £IOO in the Queensland; .Moir, £3OO in the State; Yickers, £2OO in the Royal; Hood Bros.. £SOO each in the State, Queensland and Yorkshire.
