Official.—ln Trentino we occupied Montogohaw and Ponte Caffaro in the Vnloni Guidicaria and the territory north of Ferrara ; also Monte Braldo, Monte Corne, and Monte Foppiano on the north slope, and Lessino, Pasubio, and Monte Boffelami at the extremities oi the Agno and Leograva Valleys : and also in the high defiles in the Brenta Valley. We occupied all the frontier bases at Cadore, while on the Carnic frontier we won by bayonet attack the Valini-Ferno Pass at the end at Valdeganb. Our aviators bombing the electricity works at the railway station at Moni'alcone.

The Austrian Ministry has published documents dealing with the Aus-tro-Italiaii negotiations, and point out that Austria was not obliged under the Triplice agreement to ask Italy for her consent for diplomatic action against Serbia, which did not mean war, though it could lead to it. The memorandum claims that after the guarantee of certain territorial concessions Austria was ready to continue negotiations and make further concessions, but Italy had not replied to the latest offer and had denounced the Triplice's" treatment.

-Mr Asquith's message to Signor Salandra paid a tribute to Italy's longstanding attachment and great ideals jj humanity, which the Allies were .struggling to preserve from utter destruction.
