BUTTER AND SUGAR IN SYDNEY. i Umtbd Pkbbs Association. Sydney, May 25. Butter supplies are very short, and there is almost a famine. Sydney retailers are unable to procure anything like normal supplies. There is a great outcry amongst householders. A threatened shortage of sugar is also beginning to be felt. Retailers are declining to fill anything beyond very limited orders. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Sydney, May 25. The wool sales have resumed. Ten thousand bales were offered. For better classes there was a good demand at late rates. Faulties were neglected, and largely passed.
