.Miss O’Brien, -Matron at the Stratford Hospital, lias been accepted lor service on the Hospital Ship. Mr David Sole, who arrived in Now I’lvmontli in 18*11, ami assisted in surveying the town, was found dead m boil this morning. The Press Asosciation states that he was 92 years ol age, hut was quite active to the last. Mi- ,J. McDonald, who has been in the employment of Mr -1. IV. Boon, ol Stratford, for the last four and a-half years, has been accepted lor service in the ICxpeditionary Force, and leaves for Trenthani on the 2Sth inst. On Saturday afternoon the Mayor entertained Mr Me Donald and other members of the staff, at afternoon tea at Cramer’s rooms and presented Mr McDonald with a cheque. Mr McDonald is the fourth of Mr Boon’s permanent employees who have boon accepted loi service.
