Official: The Black Sea fleet disembarked troops on the 20th, despite resistance, and destroyed landing and loading places east of F.regli. GERMAN AEROPLANE CAPTURED Geneva, May 22. A German aeroplane bound for Turkey alighted near Constantsa on the Black Sea coast, in Boumania. Two officers were interned.
THE PORTE IN A RACE. ARMENIAN MASSACRES CONTINUE. (Received 9.0 a.m.) Paris, May 23. The Porte, maddened at the prospect of the Allies’ triumph, blames the Armenians for the disastrous war. the massacres in Armenia continue. Turkish regulars and Kurds kill all able-bodied Armenians who escaped conscription ; and also all the male children. Whole villages were devastated, and young girls carried off. FURTHER RUSSIAN PROGRESS. Received 8.10 a.m.) Petrograd, May 23. Official.—The Russians occupied San Sarai and Basil Kaleh, and the Turks fled to Betilisord.
