The attention of readers is drawn to the Anniversary celebration of the local corps of the Salvation Army to be held on Thursday evening in the Fenton Stx-eet Hall. The celebration will take the form of a social, at which a number of local residents will give items, and there will be short addresses by the ministers of sister churches in the town. It is twenty-two years ago since Captain McCormick and Lieut. Gates first commenced Salvation Army operations in Stratford, but the Army still finds a place in our midst.

When the present operations succeed in forcing the Dardanelles, large quantities of oil supplies will he available for the Allies for fighting, heating, fuel and for motor traction. It is estimated that about two million tons of various oil products will he available. The export to Britain alone amounts on an average to thirty six million gallons per annum. This year one quarter has gone, and as yet Britain has not taken any; thus the supplies awaiting export to the Allies must he enormous, to say nothing of their important value to the Allies. Apart from the Russian supply, limimauia has also large supplies which, if they will not be available for the Allies, will certainly not be available for tilt' Kaiser and his Kaiserites. Our fleet will see to that.
