'l’lie Rotorua, which conveyed the •Vow, Zealand nurses to England, arrived safely at Plymouth on Wednesday last. The lion, secretary of the local Patriotic Comittee states that, so far, no one has boon directly asked to contribute to the Hospital Ship Fund except -through the press. Weather indications are for northerly strong winds to gale at times; expect dull weather with much mist and fog in parts. Rain probable. The barometer has a falling tendency. At the Stratford School Committee meeting on Tuesday last, the Inspector’s report was submitted. They report that the regularity and punctuality of attendance was very good. For the year 27 first-class and 10 second-class certificates of attendance were awarded. One hoy, Wedgewood Boon, lias an unbroken attendance for six rears. The school time-table is very suitable. The discipline, ordej’ and imie of the .school is very good. ,-The rooms, outbuildings, and grounds, and general appointments are in a very satisfactory condition. The committee has carried out extensive improvements in the grounds. The Inspectors awarded the school eighty points out of a total of one hundred for general supervision, condition of buildings, and oth< r appointment's. The efficiency of the school is verv satisfactory.
