McMillan (Wellington) £9,710 The lowest tender being above, the amount of the loan asked for, the Council decided to amend certain items in the specifications and invited the lowest tenderer to colder with them on the subject. The items amended were as follows : (1) Distemper instead ol oil paint on ceilings. <2) instead »-i ll(, h plate glass. /;}) Sashes not galvanised. (1) Drop cords instead ol electroliers. (5) Reduction in price ol lavatory basins. I (j) Plain cone ventilators instead of Boyle’s. (7) Reduction in number ol lead lights. • 8.1 'Files in corridor deleted. <9) Hot water heating replaced by electric heating. The reduction's total £917 Bis, ol which £703 is represented by alteration to system of heating. C ontract let for £8,792 10s to Mr. J. L. AlcAlillan of Wellington.
