OVERSEAS CLUB.
KOHURATAHI BRANCH. On Monday, a committee meeting took place at Kohuratahi Hall, it was decided tliat on Empire Day, 24th of May, there will he a dinner at 6.30, followed by a concert and dance at 8 o’clock. It was resolved that any surplus will he made the nucleons of a fund in aid of local soldiers who are in distress; also it was resolved to form a fund to give a send-off, or some souvenir to those who join the Expeditionary Force locally. Complimentary tickets will he presented to Basil Redder, Jack Connelly and E. A Wyatt, -who are going to take their places in the near future. Mr P. Holler will address the school children at Marco Road on the origin and importance of Empire Day.
It has been decided to forward to His Majesty the King, a congratulatory cable on the above date.
There is a local membership of 68 and still more promise to join. The secretary (Mr Geo. White, P.W.D., Kohuratahi) will he pleased to forward particulars to intending momihers.
