WANCANUI WINTER MEETING. Peb Press Association. Wanganui, May 20. The Wanganui J.C. Winter meeting opened to-day in lovely weather with a very large attendance. Results: Borough Handicap, of 230 sovs, six furlongs.—Bimetcr (8.3) I, Hoy (8.7). 2, Veronal (G.S) 3. Scratched: Goldstream and King Chiara. Won by half a length, a length between second and third. Time, linin 1-lsecs. Htck Steeples, of 150 sovs, about two miles.—Soporific (10.11) 1, The Diver (10.3) 2, Xita (9.9) 3. All started. Won by six lengths, a length and a quarter between second and third. Time linin 3 2-osec. Wanganui Steeples of 400 sovs, two miles and ft quarter.—Daylight Bill (10.4) 1, Jackman (11.12) 2, Addnought (10. G) 3. Scratched: Dorando, Sandy Paul, Leapuki. Won by fifteen lengths, three lengths between second and third. Only the placed horses finished. The winner, who took command .early, gave a splendid exhiof jumping. Time Omin 2 1-5 sec.
