HENRI FENCH COMPANY. The Sydney Sun. in noticing the performance of Henri French, said: “From beginning to end he maintains the attitude of a humorously intoxicated person, and his feats of balancing while in that condition border on I tlie marvellous. He rides on single I wheels, performs the most difficult j evolutions, dodges by a hair’s breadth stage ‘props’ which is seems impossij hie for him to miss, and recovers in j astounding fashion from the most ( difficult positions. One of the feats is to balance a glass of water in a hoop and then spin the latter with gradually increasing velocity until the glass is lying flat on its side and depending solely upon the momentum for its 'grip on the hoop. Not a drop of the water is spilt, even though French falls on Ids back, turns and twists, .and acts in such a manner as to make lit appear as though an accident must happen. Another very clever piece of work is bis skating on bicycle wheels. This was both daring and graceful. , The enjoyableness of the turn is heightened by the artist’s clever com--1 edy work. Altogether it was a performance that ‘caught on’ at once, and which is hound to become extremely popular. The Stratford season opens To-morrow, Thursday. May 20. The box plan is open at Mr Grubb’s. For Children’s Hacking Cough at night, Woods’ Great Peppermint Cure, Is (id, 2 S Gd.
