Canterbury and North Island G-lGd, ordinary quality s;d. Lamb.—The market is weaker and slightly lover. Canterbury two’s 7 J.l-1 (id. Beef.—New Zealand beef is not quoted. The Government has purchased a large quantity of best quality, and there is only inferior quality for sale at market. Chilled is in good demand, hinds Bd, fores Gtd. I Butter.-—The market is firm at the advance. Danish is in fair demand at 154 sto Jobs. New Zealand prices are firm at 140 s to 1445, Australian 134 s to 138 s, Siberian 132 s to 131 s, Irish creameries 140 sto 1425, Argentine 134 s to 138 s. Cheese.—The market is very firm. Canadian white Oils to 98s, colored 94s to 9os. New Zealand market is advancing steadily, white 93s to 955, colored 93s to 945. United States last season’s make is firmer. White and colored 90s to 925. Hemp.—The market is quiet, with prices slightly weaker. New Zealand good fair grade £32 Is, fair £3O 10s, fair current Manila £39. Wheat.—The market is rather unsettled owing to reports concerning the favourable American crop. Wool.—The market is firm with improved demand, and the decline has suddenly stopped. ELTHAM AUCTION MART REPORT .Messrs King and Stihbs report as follows on their sale held on Saturday last:—We had good entries, and all lines offered sold at prices satisfactory to vendors. Dairy cows (in calf) £l3 bos, £8 17s Gd and £7 Gs. pigs £1 Bs, fowls Is 4d to Is. 9d, ducks Is Gd to Is Bd, potatoes (local) 12s per hag, pig do. Is per bag. Fruit.—Apples 3s Gd to 4s per case, pears 2s Gd to 3s per case, tomatoes 4s to 4s Gd, quinces lid per lb., lemons 4s Gd per case. We offered a. quantity of sundries, which found a ready sale. We have for sale several dairy herds, which we would he pleased to quote to intending buyers.
