Germany is reassured respecting the food supply, and there is great elation at the success in Galicia and the increased output of munitions and submarines, there being more optimism than during the winter. The Kaiser, in acknowledging a message of loyalty from Achen, said: “We must meet the enemy’s blows with resolute will, and assure tbo Fatherland of the future with the mailed fist ol heroism of self-sacrificing people. The war was forced upon ns, but already we have gained such wonderful successes that they guarantee that, by the help of God’s grace, tbo heaviest affliction which has over befallen Germany will be overcome.”-
