The Daily Telegraph's Athens correspondent says the twenty-five Britishers exiled to Gallipoli have now been transferred to Broussa. , Keuter reports from th e Dardanelles that after the landing at the western end of Gallipoli, there were several Turkish night attacks, the most important of which was on May Ist from 10.80 p.m. to dawn. It was a wonderful starry night, with a full moon. Seaward, the clusters of .lights on the transports, and shoreward the guns and howitzers of the British, French, and Turkish forces flashed all night long. The rifle-fire was incesant, and the deeper boom of the warships' guns rose over all. Star-shells from time to time lit up the scene. The Turks fought stubbornly, and repeateedly reached the Allies' lines. They suffered terribly from the bayonet. Many penetrated behind the lines and were killed or captured at daybreak. The Turks probably lost three thousand, while the Allies' losses were slight. Fresh attacks on several succeeding nights were less prolonged and determined, and all were ineffective.
