THE IMPORTANCE OF MARNE TO ITALY. United Peebb Association. Paris, May 13. The Temps’ Pome correspondent says it is known in well-informed Italian circles that Germany intended to invade Italy after Charleroi and Mons, and capture Milan. They would then have attacked Franco from the south to capture Lyons. The defeat of the Gormans at the Marne upset the plans and forced Germany to court Italy.
