Renter's Paris correspondent says that a wounded officer, referring to the taking prisoners of three thousand 1 Germans, remarked: "We killed thrice that ntjmber." Another declared that many Germans surrendering now fall on their Knees and beg for mercy and pardon, and that officers act similarly. 'BRYCE'S BLUE BOOK. "MURDER, LUST AND PILLAGE" (Received 1.20 p.m.) ; London, May 12. "Mr Bryce's Blue Book states it was proved there was deliberate, systematic, and organised massacres of the civil population in many parts of Belgium. /Women and children were used as a shield for the advancing Germans. ■ Murder, lust, and pillage prevailed on a scale unparalleled hi any war between civilised nations for three centuries.
