THROUGH GERMAN SPECTACLES. United Phsbh Association. Berlin, May 11. Official: An Angfo-French attack was delivered south-west of Lille in j'eply to our success in Galicia. It was directed at the German positions east of Fleurhaix, east of llichebonrg, Vermelles, Ablain, Xenfville, Saint Laurent, and near Arras. At least lour fresh Army Corps, besides old troops, made repeated attacks, but were everywhere repulsed with very heavy losses, especially the British. We took 500 prisoners. The enemy occupied our advanced trenches between Alency and Noufvilol Counter-attacks are proceeding. Airships dropped bombs on a fortified place at Southend. General von Mackenseu again drove the Russians from position after position, capturing 12,000 prisoners, despite the enemy bringing, up troops hastily hy rail and forced marches. The Kaiser Ims conferred a fresh decoration on General MacKeuson for breaking the Russian front, which he described as one of the proudest feats of the war.
