BRITISH M.P. WOUNDED. United Pbe*s Association. London, May 12. Mr J. C. Wedgwood, M.P. for New-castle-uader-Lyne, in the House of , Commons, was wounded at the Dardanelles. HIGH COMISSIONER’S REPORT. High Commissioner reports, London, May 11th, 6.5 p.m. The Allies captured on Monday a cemetery in the eastern portion of the village of Carency, which was invested on three sides, and took 230 prisoners and several machine guns. Four German counter-attacks were put down. The enemy lost heavily at Loos, Notre Dame, de Lorette, Sonchez, Nouville, and St. Yaast. We gained ground at
Xouville, and captured a hundred prisoners and more than fifty officers. The Germans shelled Sergues and killed twelve and wounded eleven. The Allies’ batteries silenced the enemy. An aviator bombed and fired a hangar at Maubeuge. Near St. George’s, the tnemys night attack to re-take the position was unsuccessful. Xorth of Arras the Allies are progressing. Replying to a question, Lord Crewe said the communication respecting Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria ordering the murder of British prisoners came from official sources. While the Government had no confirmation of the German soldiers’ statements, they had no reason to doubt the authenticity. King, in the House of Commons, asked whether, before sanctioning the use of gas by the military, the House would be given an opportunity to discuss it. Mr Asquith said he regretted he could not promise a day for the discussion.-
