His brother, Constable Hugh Shaw, returned to Wellington yesterday from Napier, after his second visit in search of the missing man. He organised search parties, and he also covered the surrounding country on horseback, but found no trace of his brother. The last seen seen ol Constable Donald Shaw was when he came out of a Napier picture show during the interval. His brother states that Inspector McGrath and the police have done everything possible to unravel the mystery.

The monthly meeting of the Stratford Hospital Board yesterday morning was attended by Messrs J. ChristoIVel, E. Mine, ('. I). Sole, K. Walter, and R. MeK. Morison. An apology was received from Mr J. McAllister. Mr Sole was voted to the chair. The monthly levies to be made upon the local authorities at the rate of Id for capital expenditure and 7.Vd for Ordinary expenditure per £IOO capital value are as follows ;—Stratford County Council £O3 17s lOd, Whangamomona County Council £ls l s Oil, Stratford Borough £ls Os 2d.—Mr McAllister was re-appointed chairman for the year. The Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand opened its Annual Communication this morning (states a Wellington Press Association telegram).
