The devilish act .of the German pirates in "the attempted sinking of the great' Atlantic liner Lusitania with thirteen hundred passengers on board will thrill the world with horror. It is, of course, merely setting the seal on the accursed Hun's gospel of frightfulness. But of one thing we arc certain: such f rightfulness will not

terrify the world into .submission to these foul murderers. Rather will it make the Christian nations unite in saying: "Let us exterminate these hellish hrutes." Surely even the frothy talk of America will be replaced bv some sort of action after this. And

surely also Italy will realise that she! is being fooled with German promises' and German lies, and would but be rent asunder and thrown to the Austrian dogs if she is insane enough to join Austria and Germany, and if the unthinkable happened, and by any chance the tide of war went in favor of the Huns. No treaty, no solemn promise, no law of humanity but has' been ruthlessly broken by these Ger-, mans! It is the sacred duty of the righteous nations of the earth to wrest] the sword from the Prussian murderers' hands at the earliest moment, for ©very day and every hour but adds to the deluge of blood which German has let loose. It is no time for half measures: retribution must follow deeds such as that which shames civilisation to-day... j
