Melbourne, April 26. In the Hallarafc Court to-day, Michael Alexander Carmichael, a Crimean veteran, SM years of ago and (jft. in height, was charged with having been under the influence of liquor, Carihichael was a member of the famous Light Brigade, which, under Captain Nolan, charged the guns at Halaohr.'a, and he escaped with u slight wound. The veteran who, nothwithstandiiig his advanced age, still maintains military hearing, stood erect when brought before the magistrates, tie said that the news of the fighting, in the present war had recalled his campaigning days, and, old as he was, ho was eager to fight. Ho was detained until the rising nf the Court.
