Stichhnry, of Auckland, of the death of his brother-in-law, Lieutenant Ronald I’. Mathieson, who was killed in action in German West Africa. Lieutenant Mathieson was a native of Tan ran ga-, and wont to the Transvaal [in 1900 and fpnghfc in the South Afjrican war as a member of the Imperial Light Horse. When the present war started, ho volunteered and received a commission, and had been through all the fighting in German South-West Africa, Hi. s widowed mother resides at Tauranga.
