RACING FIXTURES. SEASON 1914-15. April 30 and May I—Hawke’s Bay I J.C. Autumn. HAWKE’S BAY JOCKEY CLUB. j (Notes by Cicero.) | Judging by the acceptances received, the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Chibs Autujnii Mooting should eclipse any pievious gathering held by that Chiu. Should the owner of Birkful start that gelding in the Longlands Hurdles, lie will practically prarlyze the btrW’og in that event. Vascular, who will carry the all cerise jacket of Karamu, may be worth watching for future events. No less than twenty-seven figure in the Maiden Hack. 'lhe Hon. Mr Ormond’s elect (Hygein or Hyettussn) and Blacking, should command a Following. The Nursery Handicap contains the names of some smart youngsters. Eligible, Rangitero, and Three, are nicely handicapped. The field for the Porangahn Handicap does not promise to be as strong as in former'years, but nevertheless, a number cf smart sprinters will face the starter. Croesus, Tote-a-tctc and Centro should provide a capital contest. A dozen horses will possibly line up to do battle for the Hawke’s Bay Cup, K tup cruder (9.3) who heads the handicap, is said to bo an unlikely starter. Leonta (9.2) ran two splendid races at Feilding, and with anything like good luck will be one of the hardest to beat. Chortle (8.12) is not overburdened, and ran a brilliant ton furlongs' at Awapuni last week, but may be, troubled by the extra couple of furlongs. Ventura and Sauci will be bettor suited over a shorter course. Sir Alba on Feilding form is held safe by Leonta, and Multiply appears to have had sufficient racing for the present. Balboa, on recent running, is the pick of the handicap, but will have a much harder task than many fancy. Bon Reve is hardly forward enough to run out a race of this description. Inidigo’s form at Trentham was encouraging, and were be ridden by a more fashionable horseman than Stowe, the writer would like his chance second to none. The lighter weights all have a chance, but Balboa, Leonta and Indigo stand out the most prominent. Many considered Vi lucky to win at Feilding, but the Merriwee mare is sure to keep Flingot busy to-morrow. Despite her weight, Dinner Gong should receive strong support for the Poukawa Handicap, whilst George and Kaminohe should make tilings interesting in the Autumn Handicap.
