DEATH OF A TROOPER. Per Press Association. Welliutgon, April 23. The Defence authorities have been notified that No. 2-380, Gunner Willitm Barcoe Harvey, No. 1 Battery Now Zealand Field Artillery, main body New Zealand expeditionary force, died in 10th inst. of phthisis. Next of kin is his father, Henry Harvey, No. 38 Warden Street, Opoho, Dunedin. HOSPITAL ORGANISED. Wellington, April 28. The stationary hospital which New Zealand is supplying for service at the front in Europe is non fully organised at Trentham. The hospital, though officially designated a “stationary” one, is virtually a mobile unit, taking the place of the old socalled “field hospitals” used in previous campaigns. It will he kept close up to the front, or, in other words, but ono remove from the firing line. The hospital consists of 200 beds, but witli no nurses. The personnel comprises eight officers, one lieutenantcolonel, two majors, four captains or subalterns, one quartermaster, one warrant officer, eight sergeants, one bugler and seventy-six rank and tile. The officers who have received definite appointments are: LieutenantColonel McGaviu, F.R.C.S., Eng., M.D., London; Major Acland, E.ILC. S., Eng.; Major Wylie, E.K.C.S., Eng. ; Captain Leahy, 8.A.. M. 8., M.S., Svdney University; Captain Eraser-Hurst, M l)., Durham; Captain I). Stout, E.H.C.S., Eng.; Captain Marchant, eye, ear, nose and throat specialist; (,)nartermaster-Lientenaiit Isaacs, dentist.
