[FROM OUR OWN 00HKKSP0N11KNT.1 On Friday afternoon a match wasi tiied on the miniature .range between ( the ladies of Cardiff and the school buys. Afternoon tea was provided,j and the boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Following are the scores:—] Ladies.—Miss E. Coldwell 31, Mrs] Howarth 28, Miss O'Sullivan 28, Miss F. Coldwell 27, -Miss L. Frebble 27, Mrs Gates 8. Total 149. ' | Boys.—T. Probble 31, J. Wisnewski 28, J. McFadgen 20, 0. Stewart 27, R. Smith 26, It. Crossley 25. Total,] IU3. Mrs Gates did not shoot up to her usual good form, and the boys secured a win by 14 points. Another interesting match was fired at night between the northern members of the Miniature Rifle Club and the southern members. The' southerners, whose team numbered 10 against the northerners 12, were adjudged the winners, they haying the better average. The following are the best scores:—Northern. —L. Rogers 31, A. David 33, 1). O'Sullivan 33, A. Belcher 32. Southern.—J. Rogers 35, J. T. Belcher 31, 0. J. Howarth 31, E. flSnw'ood 33, J. Morrison 34, W. Mantier 33. A meeting was held after the match, when Mr J. T. Belcher, president, occupied the chair. It was decided to run in conjunction with the Miniature Rifle Club, a Sports and Pastimes' Club during the winter months. Mr Belcher has kindly donated a sot of boxing gloves. Mr J. Stewart is giving a gold medal for competition among members of the Rifle Club. It was decided to hold next Friday night, in lieu of the usual weekly shoot, a social in aid of the Belgian Relief Fund. Tlic charge for admission was fixed at 2s, ladies a basket, and it is to bo hoped a fair amount may bo handed over. On the 21st prox, a plain and fancy dress ball will be held for the same purpose, and will, without doubt, prove a huge success. Already wo hear discussion of the fancy dresses to be worn, and though the dress is optional, the fancy dresses will, I think, he in a majority. A committee consisting of Messrs 0. Rogers, J. Brown, J). O'Sullivan, W. Belcher, 0. J. Howarth, and A. Belcher was given a free hand to make full arrangements, and every effort will be made to make the social of Friday next and the ball of 21st May huge successes.
