LABORER'S SUICIDE. Per Pkkbh Association. Hastings, April 27. Thomas Hopewell ,34, a laborer, who arrived recently from Duuedin, committed suicide by cutting his throat with a razor last night. He leaves a wife and three children. SEAMAN FALLS DOWN HATCH WAY. Auckland, April 27. Before the Sydney steamer Riverina which left Auckland at 2.30 this afternoon, had reached Tiri, a seaman named James Carroll, aged 28, toil down the hatchway. He landed on his feet. and injured his spine, and the vessel at once put hack. After the man had been landed he was taken up to the hospital,' and the steamer left again for. Sydney at 4.30.
