Tiflis reports that refugees who have reached the Russian lines state that the Mahommedans are massacring the Armenians wholesale, the inhabitants of ten villages having been slaughtered. The Salonika correspondent of The Echo de Paris says that a huge infernal machine was discovered in the War Ministry. Tt was timed to explode at a meeting of the Council, the ministers including Enver Pasha, General von Sanders, and General von der Goltz. The German police believe a serious political organisation is being worked against the Germans by the Young Turks. Several functionaries in the ministry were arrested.
