SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

MEETING OF HOUSEHOLDERS. DOUGLAS. The secretary presented a very satisfactory, report, and the balance-sheet showed a credit balance. It was resolved that this mooting of householders of the Douglas <Sehool district, respectfully urges the Hon. Minister of Education to meet the urgent .requests of the School Committee and Tarahaki Education Board in the enlargement of the school, and erection of a teacher's residence. The following were elected to tho committee:—Messrs E. Walter (chairman), J. Main, H. Wilmhurst. A. Needham trea.surer), W. Watson. POHOKURA. There was no election. BIRD ROAD, Messrs Mehrtens, PhilMps, Bowling, Freeling, Giddy (chairman). The balance-sheet showed a balance of over £6. The report congratulated householders in having at last obtained additions to the school, which is now a line building, and should prove adequate for many years for the requirements of the district.

Owing to an epidemic of influenza being in the district, there was no committee formed for the Huiaka na .School, the householders not turn iig up to the householders' meeting.
