SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

MEETING OF HOUSEHOLDERS. RAUPUHA. There was a good attendance of householders present, and Mr T. A. Bocock was elected to the chair. Before proceeding with the business, the chairman moved that this meeting of householders convey their deepest sympathy to -Mr and Mrs Marfell and family in their sudden sad bereavement. This was carried in silence. The report and balance-sheet showed the committee to b e in a sound financial position, having a credit balance at bank of £JB 7s 5d and no outstanding accounts. Under the new Education Act the number of committeemen has been reduced from seven to five/ and the following were elected: —T. A. Bocock (chairman) re-elected, W. Colson (secretary and treasurer), W. B. Smith, C. Lofroth and D. R. Savage. YORK ROAD. There being only four householders present, no election was held. ROWAN. Mr Justin McCarthy writes: As most of the men of this district were worn out with searching the Mountain for the missing man, the householders,' meeting was poorly attended. Only three householders (.members of the old committee) put in an appearance, and two of these did not wish to be on the committee. No election was held. DENBIGH ROAD . Nine householders were present, and the following were elected : —Messrs C. Frost, P. Christensen, F. Askew, F. Pedderson, W. T. Mills (chairman). MAHOE. Mr A/ Colson presided over a very moderate attendance. The report and balance-sheet, which showed a credit of £'lß 7s 9d, were adopted. There were eight candidates for the five seats on the committee, the election resulting in the return of Messrs A. Colson (secretary and treasurer), J. T. Ross, J. A. Kemp, J. Whittiiigton (chairman), and A. Pryce. CARDIFF. Eight householders were present, and Mr Crossley was voted to the chair. The . report and balance-sheet were read, showing a credit balance of £2 13s. A vote of thanks to tho outgoing committee was passed. The following were elected to the committee: Messrs Prebble, Mander, Stewart, Cameron and Rogers (chairman).
