PORT MORESBY. DISSATISFIED RESIDENTS. United Prkbb Association. (Received 0.2.1 a.m.) Sydney, April 23. A public meeting at Port Moresny resolved to demand that the constitution be altered to admit of elective representation, non-official members to be elected by the people instead of the Governor. It was asked that jury rights be immediately granted to all white settlers in the civil and criminal jurisdiction. The Government’s attitude towards the natives was a mistake, and growing disrespect of the natives towards the whites and contempt of the Administration had led to the recent murders. A LAMENTABLE FAILURE. (Received 10.20 a.m.) Sydney. April 21. The President of the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce, in bis annual address, said, “The past year lias birred upon us the conclusion that industrial arbitration as a means of seeming even a semblance of industr: il peace, has proved a lamentable failure.” SHIPPING.
