Mr R. H. Kivell was last night presented with a silver cruet by members of the Stratford Amateur Swimming Club, iu recognition of the many services rendered hy him to the Club. Mr Alfred Hintz, touring manager of “The Court Cards,” most of whom are better remembered ns the “Scarlet Troubadours,” was in town to-day making arrangements for the local season of the Company on Tuesday week. The Wellington Teachers’ Institute last evening nominated the following members for the executive of the Xew Zealand Educational Institute, President, Mr H. E. Couzens, M.A., Auckland ; vice-president, Mr A. Erskine, Wellington; secretary, Mr H. A. Parkinson, M.A., Wellington; treasurer, Mr E. V. Just, Lyttelton; nonofficial member, Mr A X. Burns.
