At the inquest on the tragedy in Albert Park, a verdict was returned that Farrell murdered the girl Leigh, not Marshall, and then committed suicide. Evidence was given that Farrell was keeping company with Leigh for a couple of months. Though Farrell was married, he asked- Leigh to marry him. TEMORA RAILWAY COLLISION. ( Received 1.0.10 a.m.) Sydney, April 23. At the inquest on the railway smash victim, the station-master a* - ' Biualong gave evidence that after the accident Xight-officer Cotter said "this is a bad fix. I pulled the signals in error for the main line instead of the loop." The S.M. added that Cotter was a splendid officer, and practically a teetotaller. He worke.d twelve hours nightly, and his health lately had been unsatisfactory. The driver of the .Melbourne express gave evidence that the lines were set clear. When lie saw the other train, he shut off steam, and put on the brakes, but it was too late to avoid the collision.
