The Chairman reported re Tapnni Road, and it was resolved on the motion of Crs Worthington and Smith—That the (’mi)il.V Solicitor he instructed to carry into effect the resolution of July 17, 11)12, re Mr .1. 1C Voting's bridge and deeds, the resolution read as iollows: Jh.it subject to the satisfaction of the County Solicitor. Mr Young’s proposal to give the Council a guarantee to have a clause inserted in his deeds in ease of sale, giving the Council a right to acquire land through Ids property in exchange for the present In* pnni Hoad ho accepted.” Resolved on the motion of Crs Walter and Were— -That .Mr Lees’ offer made to the Chairman to supply timber for bridge on the main road near Toko School he accepted with thanks.
Resolved on the motion of Crs Hathaway and Were that the matter of Douglas Rail way Reserve bo referred to Cr Worthington with power to act.
Cr Raskin moved that the Railway Department be asked when they would be prepared to shilt bank of earth near tho railway crossing on the south side of Midhirst station.
Resolved on, tho motion of Crs Walter and Christoffol, that if J. Sharrock does not carry out bis contract in terms of the agreement, the Engineer be empowered to do the work, and that the deposit bo forfeited. Seconded by Cr Coleman, and carried. Resolved that the Council vote £o to he spent by the Borough Council on Swansea Road.
Resolved on the motion of Cr W alter. seconded by Cr Coleman, that the Council take the road reserve at Taurakawa near Mr Hartie’s as a horse paddock. On the "motion of Crs Wore and Walter, it was resolved that Mr fryday be empowered to clear logs from Mangaehu L up to £2. llesolved that an insurance accident policy fie taken out on the life of the Engineer as per particulars submitted.
