Mr F. Carr Kollett. Agricultural Editor of tlio “Auckland Meekly News,” is spending a few days in the Stratford District.
Mr. W. Hathaway, chairman of the Stratford County Council, at the meeting this morning, expressed his heartfelt sympathy with Cr. Anderson in Ids recent bereavement in the loss of Ids mother. The chairman’s remarks were endorsed by the members of the Council and a vote of sympathy was passed with Cr. Andeison. Mr. Edward Marfell, of Toko ■Hoad, who for a number of years was a member of the Stratford County Council, was accorded the sympathy of the Council at its meeting this 'morning, in the recent loss of his son, Mr. Trevor Mariell. In bringjing up the matter, the chairman (Mi. Hathaway) said they had all heard 'with regret of the severe blow which I ex-Councillor Marfell had received, and the chairman moved that a vote of sympathy he passed and that a letter of condolence he sent to Mr Marfell 111 bis SiU * bereavement. The motion was seconded by t r. bmitb '-ad carried in silence.
