SYDNEY WOOL SALES. United Press Association. (Received 8.25 a.m.) Sydney, April 16. Owing to the dearth in freight forthcoming, tire wool sales are restricted to twenty-thousand bales weekly.

The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford Dranch, report as follows: On Tuesday, 6th April, we held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards. We had a small yarding of cattle and 935 sheep. Several lines advertised did not come forward-,• no doubt owing to the holidays. There was a good demand, more especially for sheep, and a fair clearance was effected at the following prices Fat cows £6 10s to £B,-.store cows £4: 11s to £5 3s, small and poor 61s to 70s, yearling steers (.nice line) 39s 6d, 2 year steers 73s 6d to 80s, weaner heifers 15s to 20s, mixed weaners up to 29s 6d, f.m. ewes (fair quality) from 16s to 17s 9d,- f.m. ewes (poor) from 8s to 10s 4d, while medium ewes realised from 14s 4d to 15s sd, lat and forward lambs 12s 6d to 13s 9d, rape iambs in good demand, small 7s up to 8s lOd, fair lines 9s 9d to Us 3d, Romney rams 3gns., Lincoln rams 20s. Our next Stratford sale will be held on 20th April, 1915. On Thursday, Bth April, we held a clearing sale on account , of Mr Alexander. Watt, who has sold his farm, at Turamanku, near.Tarata The attendance was very large, and all the. stock and sundries, 93 lots, were in good; order, and realised full to high pno?s under very keen competition lor most lines. Bedsteads from 20s to 30s, stretchers from os to 16s, chest drawers 335, wicker chairs from 13s to 16s y sewing machine 100 s, washstand 12s, Belgian chairs ss, cans 4s, fowls 2s to 2s 3d each, ducks Is 9d. The stock was keenly competed for as follows: Cull lambs 5s 6d, rape lambs 12s 6d, flock ewes with rams 20s 6d, rams Igu. to 1-lgns, goats 10s, pigs 30s, wethers IDs- 6d r heifers in calf £6, mixed weaners 20s, cows and, calves 675, 15 months heifers 565,. store cows 955, bullocks (2 year, old) £6; 6s:. On Tuesday, 13th April, we held our usual .monthly sale of wool, sheepskin's,- hides, etc. We luvd.l a fair catalogue of., 77 packages wool, and 425- sheepskins, etc. There was an average and , competition was keen, more especially ■ for sheepskins, which advanced considerably more especially for good lines.
