A PAINTER SUICIDES. Per Press Association. Auckland, April 10. John Simpson, a painter by trade, age 59, was found about, midnight by bis son lying on the floor of his residence at Xewton Road with his throat cut. A blood-stained razor was near bis right hand. The police were informed, but Simpson died in the meantime. » The AVest Australian Cabinet recently considered three'death sentences, and the Executive Council reduced two of them to imprisonment for life. The reprieved men are George Snellgrove, who killed with an axe Sarah Anne Bourne, and Bin Osman, a Malay, who. without any apparent reason, stabbed his Chinese mate, Ah Hong, at Broome.
