SIXTH REINFORCEMENTS. United Press Association. Timaru, April 13. One hundred and fifteen young men passed the medical inspection yesterday for the sixth reinforcements. MAJOR-GENERAL CODLEY. Wellington, April 14. The Minister for Defence (Hon. .1. Allen) states that the promotion of General Godley to the rank of MajorGeneral Godley has compelled the New Zealanl Government to consider their arrangement with him. While here. General Godley was receiving £‘looo a year and a house allowance of £2.10. but as Major-General in the British Army on active service he receives in pay and allowances about £I7OO a year. The Government could not see how it could do otherwise than pay Major-General Godley this extra salary, especially as Major-General Davies, the New Zealander, is receiving a Major-General’s pay from the Imperial authorities.

NEW ZEALANDER KILLED AT THE FRONT. Gisborne, April 14. News has been received that Trooper Thomas Henry Mossman, member of the Legion of Frontiersmen, who went from this district with the Expeditionary Force, was killed at the front. Mossman was a well-known sheepfa rmer. TWO MORE DEATHS. Wellington, April 13. The Defence Department lias received advice of the deaths, presumably from natural causes, of Sapper E. A, Bonsor, of the Field Engineers, British section; and Private Frank Feather, Auckland Infantry Second Reinforcements. BATCH OF TROOPERS RETURN TO THE DOMINION. Pee Press Association. Wellington, April 14. A further batch of men on relief from Samoa returned by transport to Wellington to-day. They had a good trip, and there was no sickness aboard. On landing, those going with the reinforcements were sent to Trentham Camp, and the remainder of the force marched, headed by the Fifth Regimental Band, which was also from Samoa, to the Buckle Street drill hall.
