HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. The varied programme screened last night met with high approval. The star feature •‘King in Name Alone” is the foremost color production of Pathe Frores Company. The supposing lilms are first-class productions. “Hunger Knows no Law” is a splendid Vitagraph portrayal of the pangs of hunger. “The War Gazette portrays war events in a clear and im,cresting manner. “The Girl of t'i« Seasons” is a novel comedy, the title of which explains the film. fatty A chuckle* is real funny in Keystone’s “Brand New Hero.” “The \alley of the Arne-—France” is a beautiful ;fenic. The above subjects will he screened for the hist time to-niglit. “CHARLEY’S AUNT.” Tlie success which has attended the “Charley’s Aunt” Comedy Company in the North Island has been phenonemal. The humour which is clean and wholesome, continues to keep the audience in shrieks of laughter from the rise to the fail of the curtain. Playgoers who enjoy a real, hearty laugh, slioudn’t fail to see this corns edy. The box plan is now open at Grubb’s. “WITHIN THE LAW” This is the story crystalised : Mary Turner, and innocent shop-girl, is convicted of stealing, and is imprisoned for three years as an example to the other girls, although she pleads that she is entirely innocent of the crime with which she is charged. She swears vengeance against her former employer and society in general, and once out of gaol she lays her plans accordingly. Surrounded by a band of clever criminals; she soon becomes licit, the system she pursues being to keep within the law without breaking its actual letter, though constantly defeating its spirit. Meanwhile, she is steadily pursuing her plans for vengeance, for the debt which 'society owes her she is determined to collect. How, in carrying this out, she marries her old employer’s son and thofi crushes him with the announcement that she is a gaol-hird; how the police ‘stool-pigeon,’ an informer, is shot with a silent revolver, and Mary and her husband are dragged into the not of the outraged police, arc incidents breathless with excitement. The Pox Plan is now on view at T. G. Grubb’s, where seats may be reserved without extra charge. MBMBATURE R3FLE SHOOT.
