In the final tie of the Australasian ( draughts championship, £alderwood '(Auckland) won from Boreham (Dunedin). Having got a draw and a win on the previous evening, Calderwood jonly required a draw to win outright, and he pursued a safe line, leaving the onus of rest to his opponent. Calderwood won the New Zealand championship last year. Gardiner (West-port), the retiring champion, was not a competitor. Handicap results are: P. Muir (Dunedin), handicap 4, score total 2(11, I : T.
