STRATFORD V. OPUNAKE. The match between the above Clubs on the local green yesterday resulted in a win for the homo team by nine points. Following are tire scores (Stratford being mentioned first in each rink); — G. Curtis, Hartley, Cottier. Skoglund 32, v. Pohe, Hammond, Sullivan, Cornish 25. F. J. McDonald, Porritt, J. Masters. Sharp 30, v.' Deegan, Judson, Walker, Burton 22. Martin, Leversedge, Stewart, McMillan 22, v. Parkes, Barron, Sorenson, Dudley 28. Totals : Stratford 84, Opunake 75. In the evening a match was fired at the miniature rifle range, where the visitors were provided with a novel and enjoyable entertainment. Stratford won by 30 points. The following are the scores :
STRATFORD’S CHAMPION—G. SMART. The finals for the G. N. Curtis champion trophy have been played, and the result is a win tor Mr Geo. Smart. Playing R, McK. Morison, “George” scored '2l to his opponent’s 18, and he beat W. McDonald by 1 point, the scores being 18 to 17. The win was a very popular one. CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS. The meeting of champions for a gold medal presented by the Westport Coal Company, will eventuate at Stratford to-morrow, the first round commencing at 1) a.in. sharp, each game to be ot twenty-one heads, r J here are ten competitors, every club but Pa tea and Waitara being represented.
