Three rinks from the Stratford Bowling Club played yesterday at Hawera, where they were the guests of the president of the Hawera Howling Club (Mr Parkinson), and a very enjoyable day was spent. The following arc the scores, Stratford being mentioned first throughout:— 11. Wilson, .Martin, Porritt, McDonald 12, v. Brunette, Lewis, C. W. Curtis, Foy, 20. Lopdell, Stewart, Hartley, Smart 12, v. Spence, Tait, Syme, Henseu, lib Bickerton, G. Curtis. Wright, Sham 21, v. Dunlop, Campbell, Crabb, W. Robertson, 19. Totals: Stratford 45. Hawera 58. Play was continued in the afternoon, the scores being : McDonald's rink 15, v. Rudkin, Burred, Henderson, flollard. 27. Sharp's rink 32, v. Rates, Wilks, A. Robertson, Parkinson, 31. Smart's rink 32, v. Hodge, Graham, Maslin, Grant, 27. For the coveted position of champion of the Stratford Club, .Messrs W. McDonald, G. Smart, and R. MfK. Morison play off after tieing for the second time. The winner "ill represent the Club in the champion of champion i games to be played on the Stratford i green on Thursday, when the Stratford | Club members are requested to bring I the usual "plate."
