The weather was showery and the going heavy tor the second day of the A.J.C. autumn meeting. The attendance was large. The stewards investigated a complaint lodged by the part owner of Carlita, that Bracken did not ride according to instructions in the St. Leger. The stewards found that bracken did his best, and did not go to the front, simply because he could not without unduly forcing his mount. Moonbria was made favorite for t)u j Cup, but was never prominent, aim no.ie of the fancied division were placed, Scotch Artillery leading from start to finish. Forest Prince created excitement by winning the Steeplechase in the last few yards, creating a record for the race. Results:—

Mr Wren celebrated the coincidence of liis forty-third birthday with his win in the Done-aster Handicap by donating the winnings, amounting to £2,12;') to the Belgian, funds. It was also the jubilee of the Done-aster event. Fisher (Garlin's jockey) has now ridden over 320 winners The Telegraph says that whethei Mountain Knight is a genuine stayei may be doubted, but the way in which he won the Leger leaves no doubt of his ability to get something further. The race was a chapter of accidents, every horse in the race meeting with some mishap or other.
