Ltd., Stratford branch, report as rollows: — On Tuesday, 23rd March, we held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards, when we had a small yarding of 1.31 head of cattle and idol sheep, most of which were disposed B f. prices: Fat cattle CO 2s to £7 15s; store cows, small, 7.0 sto 80s; medium £5 to £5 10s; good up to £5 IGs; heifers, fat, light weights up to £1 6s; dairy cows £8 2s Od; 18-months steers £3 10s; 18-month heifers 40 s to ■!2s; mixed weahers, small to 22s (id , aeaner heifers, small, 10s to 18s, hulls, small, £3 2s Od, medium £5 15s to £5 17s Od, fair weights £0 to ss; f .in. ewes poor 11s lid to 13s 7d; lambs, cully, 5s lOd, As lid, medium 0; Id to Bs, fair 10s 3d.
On Thursday, 25th March, we held our usual monthly sale in our Kohuiatnhi yards, when there was a fanyarding of 270 head of cattle and 1080 sheep. Fat cows up to £6 10s, 18-months steers 00s to 05s ; for small to 75s Od for medium ; 21-year steers 115 s; dairy heifers up to £7 os; 2-th. wethers 18s 4d ; lambs 1 Is Od ; 2-tooth ewes from 12s 3d to hs 3d; Lni. ewes, small. 9s 5d to 10s Od ; I to 5-year old ewes, fair line, up to 10s Id; f.m, rams 15s; Romnev rams £2 ss,
On'Wednesday, 31st March, we held our monthly sale in our Te Wera yards when we had a yarding of 900 sheep and 182 head of cattle. Wo have to report a very brisk safe. Wo sold <BO sheep and 115 head of cattle: —I to 5-vear-old ewes from Ids 2d to 17s 6d ; 1-tooth wethers, small, 16s 6d; fat lambs on account of Mr Martin Ford made I.ls 8d; mixed lambs Us 1 6 I 20ipoiiths steers 71s to 72s (id; 3?to 211year old steers £1 5s to £4 18s Gd , 3-year old steers £7 Us; 20-months heifers in calf 62s to ' 3s ; weanor heifers, small, 225; meaner steers, small, 23s Gd to 21s; fat cows £G ss; store cows, small, from 70s to 88s; medium 52s to 100 s; bulls, small £5 to £5 15s, .medium £G to £G 7s Gd. At this sale we also offered on account of Mi’s 0. McAlpon, 3 cases of fruit, proceeds to go to Belgian Relief Fund, which were sold and resold as follows Fist case purchased at 4s by Mr M. W. Priest, Company’s agent at Kohuraiahi; re-offered on his account and purchased by Mr \ . H. Nolan, Te Wera at 3s Gd ; Olaf McCutehan, Koiuiratahi, at 3s; Mr Alex Todd, Kiore, at 3s; Kindberg Bros., Pohokura, at 3s; Mr W. H. Best. Koiuiratahi, at 3s; Mr .1. C. Sehormann, Pohokura, at 3s; finally purchased, at 2s 6d by Mr J. G. Buchanan, of Pohokura; by whom the apples wore distributed., among the crowd. The second case was purchased by Mr A. E. Speck, Whaiigamomona at 2s; reoffered on bis account and purchased by Mr W. Winmill, Pohokura at 2s; Mr W. A. Hewitt, Stratford, at 2s: Mr V. H. Nolan, Te Wera, at 3s Gd; Mr A. E. Sped*, Whaiigamomona, at 3s; Mr W. A. Hewitt, Stratford, at 2s Gd. The third case (quinces) was purchased hyMrG. E. Willis, Koliuratalii, at 2s, 0. S. Hobbs at 2s 6d; Mr Olaf McCutchan, Koiuiratahi at 2s; Mr J. C. Latham, Tuna, at 2s; Mr W. A, Hewitt, Stratford, at 3s 9d; again by Mr W. A.-Hewitt, at 2s Gd.
Since we last reported, we have turned over a lot of stock privately as follows;—2-tooth wethers 15s 6d t'o l'6s (3d; 4-tootb wethers 18a 6d; f.ni, ewes 13s, 13s 9d, 15 s Od to 15s Od ; 2, ■I and G-tooth ewes 15s 6d; 4-t'ooth owes 17s; '2-tooth ewes 13s. 14s to 18s; lambs, small, 6s to 6s 6d; medium from 7s to 9s 6d; good from 10s to lls (3d; ramsfror.il to2gs; weaner steers 32s Od to 365; 18-months steers 60s 9d to 80s ; mixed weauers3o; 18months heifers £2 to £2 2s Gd; cows Mid calves £4.
New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 31st March, 1915: London Wool Sales.—The market is firm. As compared with' last sales’ closing rates, merino scoured is 5 to 7J per cent, lower; crossbred scoured and slipo are par to 5 per cent higher.
