BUILDING BETTER SUBMARINES.
Times and Sydney Sun Seiivioe, (Received 8.0 a.m.) London, March 31. At Lubeck, the shipbuilding yards are concentrating all their efforts on the construction of a submarine which a naval officer states shows many improvements. The newest and best type has not yqt been utilised.
(Lubeck is a free state of the German Empire, with an area of 115 square miles, embracing Lubeck coun. ty, the town of Traveraunoe, and various neighbouring villages. Lubeck county is on the river Trave, 10 miles above the entrance to the Bay of Lubeck, an arm of the Baltic between Holstein and Mecklenberg. Lubeck is a Hanse town with a flourishing commerce, extensive industries, and many wealthy institutions. Population 08,460.)
