(Received 1.10 p.m.) Petrog-rad, March 22. There are great rejoicings In t lie capital, and cheering crowds fill the streets. The Czar attended To Deum Service at the Grand Duke Nicho- ' las’ headquarters. / The prisoners state that their food was completely exhausted, and that the defenders were practically without ammunition prior to capitulation. The Russians occupied the village of Krassitchine on the western front, driving the garrison to line the forts on the whole circumference of the fortress. s Przemysl is a town of the Austrian Empire, in Galicia, on the right bank of the San, 56 miles south-west of Lemberg. The town is walled, and there is an old ruined castle on an adjacent height. A handsome covered bridge spans the river, and there are two Gothic cathedrals and several other churches, a nunnery, a military and other schools. The town was founded in 986. Manufactures machinery, timber and corn trade. Population over 60,000. The town, which had been invested for some mouths, has an important hearing on the Russians’ march to Vienna.
