WOOL AND SHEEPSKINS. United Puess Association. London, .March 18. At the wool sales there was a good sale for all sorts, prices being unchanged. New Zealand “Kiwi,” 18d to 17i|d ; “Xapier,” 18d to 17 4cl; “Weatho,” IS.Vd to 173 d: “Waewaepa,” 19d to 17-Jd, Bradford spot lots were very dear, did, 30 £d, 29id, 29(1, 28d, and 25d. At the sheepskin sales there was a good attendance and excellent competition, 7100 Australian, 700 Capes, and 1900 Puntas being offered, and the hulk was cleared. Compared to January, all combings averaged three farthings dearer, the greatest advance being in New Zealand crossbreds. Clothings ewre fd to id dearer, ami lambs Id. Merino pelts were unchanged. The next auctions will be held on 6th May. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 17th instant:—Tallow. —We quote present spdt values for the following descriptions: Fine mutton 41s 3d per cwt., good beef 40s 3d, mixed 37s Gd. Ihe market is dull with downward tendency. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd, have received the following cablegram from their London House under date 19th inst: — Sheepskins, combing penny, half-wool half-penny dearer, short, half-penny lower. The New Zealand Loan'and Mercantile Agency Co. Lad., draw the attention Jto their Kohuratahi sale to be held on Thursday, 25th March. Full particulars will be found in our advertising columns.
